Madrid (2022)

Return journey

The return trip was actually quite relaxed. There’s always a bit of concern because Madrid airport is huge and we’ve had time problems here before when changing planes, but since we only had a short flight back to Germany this time, everything went smoothly. It was interesting that we saw a family who had a cat in their luggage and let it run around freely at the airport with a leash. Since we couldn’t have breakfast early in Madrid, this time we ate at the airport ourselves, and Nathalie later treated herself to coffee on the ICE train. Since the fridge was almost empty, of course, we just grabbed something to eat in town. In the end, there were quite a few souvenirs that we had bought during our journey, including the Camino de Santiago. Although we hiked with the same luggage for most of the trip, we really hit it off in both Santiago and Madrid.

The next day, as usual, we picked up the cats from Greiz after every trip. Both of them were doing wonderfully there again and Yuri often lay on Wall-E, our former vacuum cleaner robot, which is now doing its rounds in Greiz. On the way back, however, Iva caused a lot of stress again. Strangely enough, afterward, she was staying always in the travel basket in which Yuri was transported.
